In this clip, James Cameron talks about the possibility of still making a Battle Angel movie. It's a pretty funny response to the question. And it seems like the movie still might be made but it won't be for a while now.

This is a fan made 3d animation of Alita (Gunnm) in a Motorball match. The Motorball story takes up much of book in Volume 3 Killing Angel. Picture a cyborg version of Rollerball to get a pretty good idea of the concept. Carry a 'ball' over the finish line without getting destroyed by the other players.

Battle Angel Alita: Last Order
Animated Manga

Someone took the time to scan and do some simple animated zooms and fades to the first chaper of Last Order - Angel Reborn. This is the 2nd series of the Battle Angel book. If you're planning on reading it I'd hold off watching this as well. Or maybe watch it if you want to get a hint of the story. It looks better if you view the HQ version. Click the button on the lower right of the video. The music is pretty loud on this video so be prepared to turn it down if needed. I like the idea of animating the manga like this in theory but don't think it works out very well. There's still nothing like holding a paper book in your hand and looking at the artwork as fast or as slow as you need.
